My husband and I are able to sail in silence into small bays and lagoons in our little 22’ sloop. During one of our trips I was drawn to what looked like a Grecian figure looming in the centre of cormorant sandstone caves. In my mind’s eye, I saw the protector of the birds, ancient and steadfast, as the flying birds nested leaving their guano upon the rocks below. This piece won an "Award of Excellence" from the Federation of Canadian Artists, 2008
